Uptraded
Making a circular fashion app easier to understand and use.

How it started
Uptraded is an Austrian startup that promotes exchanging used clothes within a community before buying new items. Early adopters put effort into using the app, but usability problems became a deal breaker for many people who downloaded it out of curiosity.
The goal
Make the platform friendlier to existing users and reduce the learning curve for new users.
Stage 1 · Fixing critical flows
I audited the existing experience to identify where people got lost or frustrated. I worked with the team to prioritize those issues, designed possible solutions, and tested rapid prototypes across the app.
I restructured navigation and reconsidered the features to make the experience more intuitive. I prepared user interview guides and documentation, including questionnaires, consent forms, camera angles, environment setup, and interview conduct.
User testing helped validate decisions and informed further iterations. The optimized designs were handed to developers for implementation.
I also supported the team’s decisions with findings from the audit and user tests, and collaborated closely through the design and development handoff. The original case study described the first stage as planned for implementation in early 2023.
Stage 2 · Broader adoption
The next planned stage focused on increasing engagement and adoption. It was on standby in the original case study.
