The product

Barometric Pressure Offline turns an iPhone or iPad into a barometer and altimeter. Live readings come straight from the device’s sensors, so they work without a connection. Around them sit pressure forecasts up to 16 days ahead, alerts for sudden changes, a history with personal notes for people tracking migraines or joint pain, widgets, and export to CSV or JSON.

My role

I designed a utility app that needed to feel clear, trustworthy, and quick to understand across weather, outdoor, and health-related use cases.

The design challenge

Current readings and historical patterns needed to be actionable. Alerts, widgets, notes, and export had to feel useful even without a connection.

How it has grown

Since launch, the app has grown with its users: Siri and Shortcuts, Spotlight search, CarPlay and, in October 2026, an iPad version with portrait and landscape layouts. Each addition had to fit the same simple structure: the reading now, the trend, and what’s coming next.

Launch

Barometric Pressure Offline launched on Product Hunt and the App Store, positioned around offline reliability, pressure alerts, widgets, export, and on-device privacy. Today it holds a 4.8★ rating from more than 200 App Store ratings.
